Deceleration
Urfahr Ost
Harmoniously embedded within the adjacent park, the Urfahr Ost station continues the natural landscape into the passage. The design emphasizes openness, light, and a connection to nature, creating an inviting atmosphere. Facilities such as a convenience store, bakery, and newsstand are incorporated to serve both passengers and visitors.
Landscape extension
The station is harmoniously integrated into the adjacent park, creating a natural Landscape extension. The passage and platform areas are designed to feel open, light-filled, and welcoming.
Integration with Nature
The station is designed as a continuous green space, blurring the lines between infrastructure and landscape. Strategically placed existing and newly planted trees create microclimates, improve air quality, and promote biodiversity within the station area
Hafenstraße
Conceived as a "gateway to Linz", the Hafenstraße stop offers optimal connections to the Donaupark, swimming pool, ice stadium, and football stadium. It also provides direct access to the expanded Donaupark, reinforcing Linz's commitment to sustainable urban development
The canopy structure
The canopy structure combines load-bearing timber with steel columns, ensuring both structural efficiency and environmental sustainability. The translucent polycarbonate roof panels are 100% recyclable, lightweight, UV-resistant and provide natural daylight while reducing glare.
Organic Shell Structure
Inspired by the bionic texture of leaves, the station features a lightweight, lattice-like canopy that provides shade and shelter while maintaining a sense of openness. This design ensures a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces, enhancing the overall passenger experience
Civic Landmark
The Hafenstraße station serves as a key entry point to the city, offering seamless connections to Donaupark, the swimming pool, the ice stadium, and the football stadium.
Positioned as a civic landmark, the station provides direct access to the expanded Donaupark, reinforcing Linz's commitment to sustainable urban development.
